Last updated: June 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how ePlugin ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when merchants install and use our Shopify App.
1. Information We Collect
- Shop information needed to operate the app, such as shop domain, shop name, timezone, app installation status, and subscription status.
- Theme information needed to identify where visibility rules apply, such as theme IDs, theme names, theme roles, templates, sections, blocks, and target locators.
- Merchant-created configuration, including visibility rules, scheduler rules, selected targets, rule summaries, timestamps, and revision/activity records.
- Storefront context used to evaluate rules, such as customer login state, customer tags, market, country, page type, URL path, query parameters, cart total, cart item count, product or collection tags, and similar rule inputs configured by the merchant.
- Technical logs and diagnostics needed to secure, debug, and maintain the app.
2. How We Use Information
- To let merchants show, hide, and schedule storefront sections or blocks based on their configured business rules.
- To store and sync visibility and scheduler configuration with Shopify app metafields so the storefront can evaluate relevant rules.
- To maintain app installation, authentication, billing, activity, health, and support workflows.
- To detect errors, prevent abuse, and improve reliability of the app.
3. Data Sharing
- We do not sell or share personal data with third parties.
- Data is shared only with the store merchant, Shopify, and service providers required to host, secure, support, and operate the app.
- Visibility configuration may be written to Shopify app metafields and loaded by the merchant's storefront so the app can apply the merchant's rules.
4. Data Retention
- Merchant, shop, theme, rule, activity, and diagnostic data is retained while the app is installed and as needed to provide the service.
- After uninstall, data is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period unless retention is required for legal, security, billing, or fraud-prevention purposes.
- Merchants may request earlier deletion of app data by contacting us.
5. Your Rights
- Merchants can request access, correction, export, or deletion of app data by contacting us.
- Customers should contact the store merchant for privacy requests related to their Shopify customer account or storefront experience.
- We process Shopify privacy webhooks, including customer data request, customer redaction, and shop redaction requests, as required by Shopify.
